| After graduating from OU, I moved to Amarillo, Texas to teach music
and 4th grade. There I met a long, tall Texan and married him. Rex and I will celebrate anniversary
number 46 on June 13th. We have two daughters: Amy is married and lives here in Tulsa, and Tiffany
is married and lives in College Station, Texas. Both girls got their bachelor’s degrees at A&M. Amy
received her master’s degree at the University of Tulsa while Tiffany obtained her PhD from the
University of Minnesota Rex had an industrial supply business in Amarillo until he sold the company in 1986. After that we lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico where we ran a gift store in Old Town. This was great fun and we met people from all over the world. However, we lived in the 6000- foot- plus suburbs of the high desert, and eventually we decided we’d be more comfortable at lower altitudes where we could breathe! Tulsa was a natural as it had a 1000 foot altitude, scenic beauty, our daughter, and four grandchildren! We’ve been in Tulsa since August, 2007 and I’m glad to be ‘found’ and back in touch with the Alpha Chi’s. Tulsa is a marvelous city with the opera, symphony, theater, and the natural scenery of the Arkansas river. Rex and I play bridge, are involved with Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church, Tulsa Newcomers, and I enjoy Chapter AK of PEO. After growing up In the Oklahoma panhandle, living on the high plains in Amarillo and the desert of NM, we think Tulsa is definitely ‘green country’ and enjoy day trips to the surrounding areas as well as the numerous museums. We do a lot of traveling but I’d love to be in touch…the easiest contact is by internet at rex32@cox.net. |
