Notes Then Now
After graduating from OU, I worked in Ames, Iowa for the Atomic Energy Commission. In 1965 we moved to the Washington DC area and I’ve been there ever since, part of the time as a single parent of a young son and daughter. I got another degree from the University of Maryland and a job at the Federal Reserve Board. When my kids were in college, I took up square dancing, met a wonderful man and Rene and I have now been married 16 years. Between us we have two sons and two daughters, all of whom live within a few hours’ drive.
Rene and I both retired in 2006 – I was senior computer analyst at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and he a physician in Clinton, Maryland. We live in the semi-rural area of St. Mary’s County, Maryland, and I volunteer at the Piney Point Light House just up the street from our home. I also do volunteer work with tax preparation. Rene and I both received 2009 Presidential Bronze Awards for our community efforts.
Fun? Hobbies? I took up quilting last year and won a red ribbon at the county fair! And our travels have taken us to Deadhorse in the Arctic , Ireland, the Peuvian jungle, New Zealand, and Vietnam.
I hope to attend the national AXO convention this summer in Virginia and would like to be in touch with others planning to attend.
